What does a sea lion sound like? How do dolphins form a bait ball? Do Blue Footed Booby birds really have blue feet? All these questions and more are answered in the DVD Who Lives in the Sea?

We found this to be a very informative, well done DVD. Using segments that focused on one sea animal at a time, Who Lives In The Sea? show children and adults the beauty and diversity the oceans have to offer. Annie Crawley has developed these DVD’s to teach children to love the oceans so they will protect those oceans as they grow up.

Featuring beautiful underwater camera work, catchy music and fun animals. Who Lives In The Sea? is a DVD that catches the attention of young children. The Educator guide expands on the fun in the DVD with many activities designed to extend the learning. The Educator Guide is jam packed with review questions, imagination play, and a multitude of activity station ideas complete with all printable pages needed to complete each station.

The DVD is divided into segments featuring a different animal in each segment. The Educator Guide is also divided into a 50+ page guide for each segment. We took a week for each segment. I would print off the Educator Guide for that segment. Then I would follow the guide and watch the relevant segment on the DVD and take the week to complete the activities. Then at the end of the week, we would watch the segment again to wrap up the fun.

We enjoyed using the Educator Guide and watching the DVD. I will say that Ben, at 10, is at the top of the interest level for the DVD. While he liked watching the ocean animals, especially the turtles, the narration is focused at a younger level. Rebekah, who is 8, loved the entire DVD and all the associated activities.
